Cross it off

Because you know how much I love lists, here's a list of things that I want to do in this short life of mine - starting with a list that I made during my gap year in 2009:
  1. Cook a Christmas dinner successfully
  2. Get a degree
  3. Learn to snowboard
  4. Own a puppy
  5. Go on a road trip
  6. Have a meaningful conversation with a stranger
  7. Live in a totally new country
  8. Go to an Arctic Monkeys concert
  9. Be an extra in a movie
  10. Get something published
  11. Water-ski
  12. Go to Carnival in Rio
  13. Create my family tree
  14. See the Northern Lights
  15. Learn to speak a foreign tongue
  16. Get a tattoo
  17. Read all the books on the BBC Big Read list (ambitious!)
  18. Learn to play the drums
  19. Go to 7 gigs in 7 nights
  20. Donate money and get my name on something
  21. See a show on ice
  22. Go to 30 countries
  23. Learn the rules of American football
  24. Swim with dolphins
  25. Take a hot air balloon ride
  26. Go to 30 American states
  27. Have a Harry Potter movie marathon
  28. Go to New Zealand
Looks like I still have a lot to do :)

Jess and I are planning a RTW trip for a couple of years from now. I honestly cannot wait for it, I'm already in the process of planning even though it won't be for a couple of years. Here's my first draft of things that I want to do during my travels:
  • Trek the Great Wall of China
  • Eat real sushi in Japan
  • Visit the ruins of Pompeii
  • Work in Australia
  • Skydive in New Zealand
  • Ride the Trans-Siberian Express
  • Ride elephants in Thailand (I've already done this, but I was so young I can't remember it!)
  • Whale watch
  • See the Terracotta Warriors
  • Give surfing a go
  • Couchsurf!
  • Take a hot air balloon ride
  • Climb up Mt Fuji and watch the sunrise
Adding to that list...my list of things to do in Ireland (almost completed it!)
  • Kiss the Blarney Stone
  • Visit Belfast and the Giant's Causeway
  • Drink Guinness at a pub on Arthur's Day
  • Take a free walking tour of Dublin
  • Tour the Ring of Kerry
  • Go surfing on the West Coast
  • Tour Kilmainham Gaol
  • See a Riverdance show
  • Celebrate St. Paddy's Day in true Irish style (I was on antibiotics for St. Paddy's Day 2013, so I wasn't able to party like the Irish! Guess that means that I'll have to come back some other time)
